Why?

Because one can't eat art.

---

"Brood Casting" is a whimsical yet profound series of sculptures that combines the technique of metal casting with a playful and conceptual approach.

Inspired by the wordplay between 'Broadcast' and 'Brood' (bread in Dutch), the project centers on creating metal bread slices, representing both humor and the necessity of sustenance for artists.

Although the work appears light and humorous, it conceals a deeper reflection on the survival needs of artists and the creative means they employ to achieve it.

Combined with the childlike and fragmented aspect of the bread slices, Brood Casting harkens back to the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, where the idea behind a work was often more important than its realistic representation.
